Does anyone have the portable sirius satellite radio ,stiletto 2 or 100?

How is the reception on these and is there any content restriction. Also on ebay some of these are sold as activated C what does this mean? any info about these portable devices would be helpful thanks.

  1. The reception is pretty solid depending on where you live. I personally live in the Boston area and the reception is great and if it ever isnt I can always connect to an open wi-fi network.

    I am pretty sure that activated C has something to do with the unit being purchased and activated in canada. The Canadian version of Sirius is different than the US (I think they block some channels) so, I am not sure if I would buy that unit if I lived in the US. That being said, I would just email the guy selling the unit and ask him what active C means ;-)

Reception is iffy.  I still think the technology has a ways to go before it can be truly portable.  If you live in a large city near a ground repeater, reception can be okay.  Even if you're wearing the antenna headphones, signal often cuts out when you walk under trees.  You can get all Sirius channels on them when in satellite mode.

    When the radios are in wifi mode, you can only get the music channels, Howard Stern, and a few other channels.
