  1. hi there, my son has ADHD and is dyslexic, not much fun for him, but we only found out he was dyslexic last year, and after years of being let down by the education system the school finally stopped treating me like a neurotic mother and listened, he was told that last year he had a reading age of six, (he's 14) the school got him into a student support centre and his reading age is increasing all the time he is only a few year behind now, they have helped him control his anger and channel his frustrations into more positive ways and in general he is a lot happier, so i would say yes student support centres are worth while, even if they get to meet children who are in the same situation as them it helps, my son felt stupid for years no matter how much we told him he wasn't it took meeting children his own age to show him he was not alone and certainly was not stupid, he also has a mentor who he can talk to when ever he has something on his mind, even though we are very open with our children they still need someone outside the family to talk to about their fears and insecurities so it is worth while, i hope this helps you

  2. Anytime you can get extra support for your child it is worth it.
