I have two cats. One continues to urinate all over the carpeting. He is 4 years old and is neutered. It does not appear to be a medical condition. I have tolerated it while living in an apartment but now I have purchased a home and I cannot have him doing this on my new carpet!

  1. Something I was told not to long ago was that when you clean the area to use vvenigor .  I have been told that there is something that will make them not want to go in that spot again.  sorry for my bad spelling.

  2. try getting two different litter boxes many cats will not use the same one. try putting potting soil in the litter box.

  3. I'm not saying this is the answer but I have some success with it. Where he goes, put FOIL down. Cats hate walking on foil and to disciplinee him use a squirt bottle.

  4. Very often when a cat urinates outside the litterbox, as long as it is kept clean, they may have a bladder infection. This is only sometimes discovered by the vet. If you take him to the vet and they do not find any crystals or white blood cells, sometimes you can ask them if they will prescribe antibiotics, anyway to see if it will clear up the problem. This often helps. You are also supposed to have one more litter box than the number of cats. IE: two cats, three boxes. But make sure to get him checked. When they have a bladder infection, they think the box is causing the pain, so they look for a different place.
