Does anyone have trouble working in a civic group?

here's the situation: i am a member of a civic group that is only women. i am one of the younger members of this club. and i want to do things not just attend meetings. but the old ladies don't care to do things. they just want to have lunch out. they don't want to have a positive impact on the community. i am ok with them just wanting to meet. why can't they just endorse the projects that i want to do? i am not the only one that wants to be active. there are about seven members that want to do more than the really ancient ones. but it doesn't matter even if we put it to a vote.

should i just resign?

  1. I wouldn't resign. I would step up. Do you have the authority to add more members that actually want to do something productive? Of course it is fine to meet. But who is that helping!

Good luck! Love that there are people out there willing to help!

  2. One plus seven is eight--form a new group and get out there and get active.  You will attract others of like mind.  Good luck!
