  1. The instructions are a bit involved, so, I have had to reference the users manual to explain this.

I have attached the pdf with the user's manual that explains the following with some diagrams (look at the end of page 17, page 18 and page 19 - Removing and installing ink cartridges).

    A readers digest version:

    1. Turn on the printer and close the document cover.

    2. Lift up the document scanner unit - you should see the print head.

    3. Press the ink button (looks like a water droplet).  this will do a self check to see if it needs cartridge replacing.

    4.  Keep doing step 3, until it has identified all the cartridges that need replacing and it moves to the extreme right hand side.

    5. Lift up the top of the cartridge cover (the bit that kept moving).  The latch is towards the top - furthest from you.

    6. You should be able to lift out the cartridge now, they are colour coded, so remove any that are empty.

    7. Shake the new cartridges before opening the packaging.

    8. remove the yellow tape from the cartridge.

    9. place the new cartridge into the same spot as the old.

    10. repeat for all other cartridges (instructions 6 to 9).

    11. close the cartridge cover you opened in step 5.

    12. close the scanner unit.

    13. press the ink button.
