Does anyone here ever get Lonely sometimes?

was just curious to know who Does.

I'm acutely lonely sometimes despite having an amazing family, friends and faith. I am an incredibly atypical teenager - quirky, artsy, interested in things very few others my age ever are - and the kind of person everyone likes to heap praise on, invite to their parties and sign their yearbook, but so few ever truly gets, and that's immensely, maddeningly lonely sometimes. You can't be friends with 33 year olds at 16, and 16 year olds don't really care about philosophy or desire to spend their days at art galleries. And in turn.....I totally do not get Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers, or any of the celeb obsession. And so I feel lonely even in the crowd and eventually just retreat from it, choosing instead to spend my time painting, reading, writing poetry, roaming about. This line from Don Quixote about the hermit roams through my mind a lot. I suppose it's my fault, that I chose solitude at times, and that leads to loneliness, so maybe it's not cool to complain. But....it was kind of cathartic to write this, so I did.

If you haven't already seen "Lars and the Real Girl," I so highly recommend watching it because it's essentially about the depths of loneliness...and overcoming it.

i always feel lonely, i can never fully shake the feeling off. sometimes i feel like other people can sense it, and they leave me out even more because im not being all chirpy and fun like everyone else.

the most ironic thing is, i feel loneliest when im around lots of people.

yes, sometimes even though when i'm surrounded by many people, i feel as though i'm the only person there, and i still feel that way, its just that i haven't met people that i can understand or understand me. I'm still young though, so i still have my whole life ahead of me to find somewhere i belong and to feel lonely no more, but i guess for some people loneliness isn't an issue and prefer it.

everone does! The thing to remember is that there are people worse off than u! I started volunteering with the big bros and sisters of America and met a wonderful kid who needed to hang with someone cause he was lonely and bored and I learn more from him than he does from me!
