My good friend lives in Larose. Her and her 3 little kids are evacuating today. She's so afraid she'll lose the house and I'm very nervous about what they'll come home to, also.

I guess the best I could do was to offer our home to her if they need a place to stay (I live in Indiana and she does like it here) But the loss her and her kids could experience... And all the other scared families...

I feel like there's nothing else I can do for them other than asking you to keep all these families in your thoughts. I'm not sure how else to handle the anxiety I've been feeling for them.

  1. Yes, I have a close friend in New Orleans.  I'm worried about him, but he's not, he's been through this before and they're kind of getting used to it now.  There's nothing you can do but offer support and encouragement, and donate money after the hurricane to support the victims.  The anxiety is a fact of life -- they will handle it, and the authorities, after the lessons of Katrina, have their act together this time, so I'm sure everyone will evacuate cleanly and things will be okay.

There's nothing anyone can do about property loss, except pray that this one isn't as bad.  Good luck hon, and just do what you can.
