I know that he wasn't on tv in the last five years so for all of you "superfans" I guess it would be hard for know about him but he was quite possibly the best heel of all time and trained many wrestlers, such as HHH. He will be missed by fans who ever saw him. Please read up on this man as he knew how to make the fans mad and todays "heels" could learn alot from his example.

  1. i no who he was. he trained many wrestlers who made it in the WWF/WWE. he also trained my current trainer, as well as some of my friends on the indys. i never got to meet the man, but i wish i had because i heard he was great to be around

  2. Killer was a great wrestler of the 60s.   He passed away today.

  3. RIP Kowalski

  4. I can remember when Killer Kowalski would come to Moncton New Brunswick Canada,he was a great wrestler, and he could play the heel better than most of the stars we see now,but then I am 54 years old so I likely got to see him  more than any of you,who watches wrestling now. He trained some of our stars of today, for example HHH, Chyna, just to name a couple. He will be missed by "US OLD TIMERS"

  5. Has he passed away? I haven't read anything wrestling-related in weeks. Along with Freddie Blassie, probably the best monster heel in wrestling. RIP.

  6. ahh man. I remember like a week ago some one asked a question and said that Killer Kowalski is fighting a disease. I prayed and hoped that he would fight it through and survive. This must be a bad day for HHH. He was trained by Kowalski. I think that he was maybe one of the greatest heels of all time.

  7. i watch many old wrestling matches, so yes i know who he was

  8. I Know Him Vaguely But I Know Some Stuff Bout Him

    May He R.I.P

  9. well ive been watching wrestling since 1979 when i was 5

so yes i know who he was

  10. I know who Killer Kowalski is.

And the main reason people should know him is because he's trained a lot of successful guys in the business, especially HHH. I can understand not many people having seen his matches, but his name must ring bells still.

  11. Good point the thing is most of the younger fans are not interested in the history of the product. At least his legacy will live on whenever they cheer HHH or boo Edge, Orton, or any other heel they claim to hate with a passion. Kowalski set the table from which these heels partake from...

That is better then nothing my friend...

  12. so whats the question?

this isn't Yahoo! comments or Yahoo! statements... it's Yahoo! Answers so if you're not looking for answers or  answering questions, don't waste time

  13. Your absolutely right! He was one for the ages. Not to mention hes from an era that was less flash and more character based and heels and faces were played out to a tee. I did hear he passed a while back and thats too bad. It seems that wrestling hast lost alot of their greats. I also mourn the loss of Gorilla Monsoon. Another part of wrestling history. But noone did it like Kowalski, Verne Gangne, The Von Erichs, The freebirds...etc..... wrestling just isnt as entertaining as it used to be.

  14. I may be the only user in this section that actually got to watch him perform.  I used to watch him every Saturday afternoon in the late-60's - early 70's.  His Flying Kneedrop from the second turnbuckle finisher was awe-inspiring...at least to a 10-year-old it was.  6'7, lean as a whip, flying through the air to crash upon his opponents.  It was an amazing sight at a time when few wrestlers did flying moves, and no other of his size did.

Freddie Blassie is the greatest heel I've ever seen (he was the best at something that Kowalski wasn't good at -- promos, mostly because of his very heavy Polish accent, I guess).  But in the ring, yes indeed, Kowalski was a great heel.  Kozlov reminds me a lot of the Killer (looks a lot like him, too).

Those who say Edge is the best heel ever, or *shudder* Kennedy, should definitely read about Kowalski, search the internet for any clips of him in action, and learn what a real wrestling heel is.

EDIT:  I just read Shirley's answer.  It's great to see another "old-timer" in the wrestling section.

  15. yeah i was a big fan. rip
