Are you prepared for Gustav? I know I am. I live in Alexandria, Lousiana, which is right in the middle of the state. It's supposed to come right through here.

  1. Why dont u evacuate? this is the size, if not LARGER than Katrina. I'd be long gone if I were u.  Good luck if u want to ride this one out.

  2. Good luck to you all. This is a killer storm. Get as far away as you can. All of us up north are praying for you down there.

  3. I'm not from the Region, but I just wanted to wish you all a safe couple of days.  Good Luck and God Bless.

Please evacuate if need be.. We're all praying for you. xx

  4. South of Hammond here. I hope it doesn't keep growing. I'm moderately prepared, but there are things I wish I had that the stores were all out of, like an oil lamp or a generator with a power inverter. It's going to get really hot when the power goes out.

  5. Good luck to you all. I hope you're all smart enough to get the h**l out so I don't see your corpse floating down the street tomorrow night on Primetime Live.

  6. I'm in north Mississippi, and we're getting ready by buying batteries, filling the gas tanks, and preparing for all the evacuees that will be coming very soon...so come on, we'll be ready!!!

  7. I don't thank God. Good luck and God Bless

  8. I live in Prairieville, just outside of Baton Rouge. I think I'm ready for Gustav, but it sounds worse every update. I lived through Katrina, I guess I'll make it through this one too. I think we have a much better prepared governor this time too.

  9. In Prarieville here.. between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.. We're prepared and stocked up on water, non-perishable foods (tons of peanut butter) bread, batteries, flashlights and candles.. We live in a trailor but if it gets more then what we expect or more then we can handle here.. we will stay at my inlaws  house. I think we're more prepared this time then we were for Katrina. We may not get it as bad, but its always best to be prepared for the worst.  A week after  Katrina hit us, I was given a 10 day eviction notice at my apt, even with rent in hand a week late, he wanted me out, said it was because of my kids, and their toys.. (they had no outside toys, just bikes) I later found out that it was because he was going to rent the apt out to fema for hurricane victims.. Hard to believe that someone could be so cold and heartless as to put 3 kids and their mom on the street after a major storm, with thousands and thousands of other people with no where to go.. He did this to me and 2 other tenants in the building. Fema re did the apts with new carpet, paint, wallpaper, appliances, and furished the apts with furniture, and the landlord was making 300 more a month then he did when i lived there, a good example of greed right there.. but what comes around goes around...

I hope everyone is safe and takes all precauctions to keep themselfs their family and pets safe.. We survived Katrina and we can survive Gustav...

  10. St. Tammany Parish. Evacuating to Washington Parish tomorrow a.m. Hope we'll be safe there. Not that much further north. But we are as prepared as we're gonna get. Generator, flashlight, batteries, food, toys for kids, and plenty of prayers and patience. Good luck to you and God bless.

  11. I'm in Bossier.. we are planning on getting extra batteries, candles, and water tomorrow. Just in case the power goes out. I'm not expecting it to be too bad though, since the last one that came through (Rita) ended up just being a little storm. I think it weakens alot before it gets up this way. That's why so many of the evacuees are headed up here. :o)

Edit: I'm getting a little worried about flooding up here, the weatherman said it is going to stall out right over us. :oP My hubby and I are going to get outside and clear out the ditches today!
