Does anyone in NZ have rendering odour problems?

We live in Tuakau New Zealand,2 kms from a rendering plant.We have to put up with gut wrenching smells all year but the worst is from Nov-April.

I live in Ohio near Columbus U.S.A. A rendering plant here sometimes makes it smell so bad it takes your breath away . They say there is nothing to be done about it. The by- products are so useful they will never stop.
