...You know, the type where you really don't want to like him, but it's hard to dislike him when you see how determind he is to win and how happy he looks in the interviews?

I used to not be able to stand him and it was getting a little old seeing him win, but as soon as he gets out of the car and lights up the tires and has a big smile, I cant help but smile back.

Has it been this way for anyone else this year?

*****PS if you are here to bash dont answer please*********

  1. I like the way he drives and is motivated every week .  His determination is amazing.  He has skills and is one of the most talented drivers in NASCAR  (7 wins is no fluke) As far as his attitude I think it will improve after he gets used to winning

  2. I never understood why no one admired the kid in the first place!!

eh...to each their own, I suppose.

  3. Na, not me.  I just think he is fun to watch, Apparently he is the only one wanting to win bad this year, he has proved that more than once. Seem like some of the other drivers are kinda....................

    well..........afraid.

  4. i met him his rookie year in the then busch series, i think hes a nice kid and a great talent. hes not in my top 5 but i like him and am happy that he doesn't say anything mean about hendrick, but has done so well since mr. hendrick displayed such disloyalty towards him.

  5. I'm with Steffy on this one!! I don't really care for him but he does add alot of excitement to the race and I will give him credit he is very talented and he's been a good boy during interviews lately so that's nice to see!! but Jr is still and will always be my man!!

  6. you know what?  Kyle busch is doing everything right...he is obviously NOT cheating, cuz they check his car post inspection thouroughly cuz of all the wins he has had! I am a die hard Kasey Kahne fan, but I like Kyle Busch, cuz he is just plain good!! And Kyle Busch bows are awesome, I love to see after every race he wins!!

  7. nothing reluctant about my admiration for the kid. liked him since before i ever saw him - back when big bro kurt was still with roush he was quoted saying “If you think I'm a great driver, just wait till my little brother comes along.” i did, and he was right.

  8. I am not reluctant at all.  I really admire the guy.  He is just...well...admirable. Talented, determined, confident, good hearted, all admirable traits!

  9. There's nothing reluctant about my admiration for Rowdy, I was in his corner from the beginning.  I fail to see the arrogance referred to by some, he was and still is a kid who loves to win, and his elation is clearly evident despite, and possibly because of the boos.

Last year I joked about him not meeting a wall he didn't like, but I knew that it was just a matter of time before it clicked.  Now, what you are seeing is a phenom. For those who are waiting for his luck to change let me just say that it's not luck, it's his brilliance just beginning to shine.

  10. I admire his ability as a driver even more after last Saturday nights race. Toyota horsepower had nothing to do with it. He took that win! There were other makes out there that were as fast or faster.

I don't dislike any of the drivers! I just think we are witnessing something this season that is going to be talked about for a long time! 7 wins with 17 races to go! Even if he doesn't win the Cup, he will make it look like he deserves it!

    PEACE

  11. I get annoyed when he wins. But then I think, well he deserves it because he's such a good driver. I think he's starting to grow on a lot of people(and I'm one of them.)

  12. It was a good test of my resolve to not get upset when he won this weekend. He was also not cocky during his interviews, so it was easier to stomach. I am getting to the point where I even admire this kid's spirit. It's hard to say this, but I actually enjoyed watching him win AGAIN. After this weekend... take a bow, kid. You've earned it

  13. I can't help but smile a little when he's getting booed and he shrugs and bows.

  14. Searching..... Searching.....

    NOPE! Still not there....

  15. I gotta tell ya, I am a HUGE Dale Earnhardt Jr fan and the guy impresses me more and more each week. It takes a special competitor to get through all the boos and hatred and still keep on winning. I said it before and I'll say it again; I really don't like him but he is one h**l of a driver!!!!

  16. No, I just think he's stupid!

    go jr # 88!

  17. I can admire and respect what he does on the race track.  I have difficulty respecting the arrogance he exhibits off the track in interviews and such.  But I really admire the way he has embraced the bad guy image as his brother,Kurt, was never really able to do.  NASCAR needs it's bad guys and Kyle has stepped up and said, "Hey, you want to boo me then let me give you something to boo about," and then goes about his job on the track and wins every other race.

I guess you qualify what I think about him as "reluctant admiration."  He has become the DW of this decade I guess.

But I sure would like to see someone other than Kyle Busch at Indy.  :)

  18. Reluctant admiration?

    Nope, more like "outright disdain."

  19. OK, I will tell you the truth.  Ummm....NO...hahaha!!!

I don't really care for the guy but I will say he does add excitement to the race.  Everyone has to have somebody to root against.  I keep rooting and he keeps winning, hmmmm maybe I should start rooting for him.

  20. At first I thought he was like his brother- a hot-headed little punk. But in his rookie year he was YOUNG, so very young. He's still so young. How would you like to mature, with all the mistakes that go with it, in front of millions of people? I think he was treated like something the cat dragged in at HMS, and he's enjoying showing his true talent now.

Yes, he makes "mistakes". Yes, he tends to drive on the aggressive side. The stupid cars are all the same, do we want the drivers to be all the same, too?

I admire the spirit with which he's taking the boo-bears thing. Probably laughing his butt off as he signs the back of the check.

He's not my #1 driver, but I don't hold him any grudges anymore.
