Does anyone kno what a colonoscopy is?

so what is a polyp ( i was asking because my grandpa is getting one in a few days and didnt understand how the doctor explained it, he has to have one because he is having problems pooping)

a colonoscopy is a simple test. they check your colon " your butt" for anything that is not supposed to be there. they check for colon cancer, or anything else that could be dangerous to you.

The doctor inserts a video camera into the r****m (butt) and through the colon and intestines to look for problems. Like pallups (bumps) Hemeroids (differnt bumps) Inflamation or pretty much anythig that shouldnt be there and is causing pain or illness.

It sounds awefull but the give you alot of drugs so you sleep through the whole thing.

It is a medical procedure that the Dr. uses to check your colon. A light, camera and surgical tools are inserted into your colon and the Dr. uses these tools to check the lining of the colon to see if you have diverticulitis (holes in the colon) also he checks for polyps, if the are small, and non intrusive, he lets them go (for now), If they are larger, he snips them out and they are sent to the lab to check for cancer. Older people should have this done every two years. They put you to sleep, and its all over in about 1/2 hr.
