I'm looking for a bike that would last her a while. I was looking on line for a bike buying guide....I know they have them, just can't find one. She's about 48 inches tall and 60 pounds, she's 7. Anyone...any help, would be great!

  1. yea i have a little sister who is 7 and ive been riding bik/es all my life get her an 20" bike and just put training wheels on it to keep her safe. then as you  see her progressing on the bike than just take them off and it would still be good. this should last you till she is ten or eleven.

  2. my daughter is 7 and she rides 16 inch. she can also ride her big sisters bike that is a 20 inch so you could get 20 if you want it to last her a while.

  3. my six year old is 42 or little more then that inches. and I have him a 16 size bike..

  4. She has to be able to put her feet (at least her toes) on the ground when she's sitting on the seat, so the bike size depends on the length of her legs, not her height.

Have her sit on a few of different size at a bike store or department store (like Wal-Mart) and see what size fits her with the seat all the way down.  As she grows you can raise the seat.

  5. you need a 20inch bike. My youngest son just turned 8 and he is 47 inches tall. She should be able to sit on the seat and still be able to touch the ground. My son can on his new 20inch with the seat in it's lowest position. He will have plenty of room to grow as well because the seat can be raised and he just fits it great.

I also know it will last because my middle son is turning 11 next month and he is 55 inches tall and still fits fine on his 20inch bike. We have just had to raise the seat over the years.

you really should take her and let her try out some bikes because they have different frames that make the feel of the bike different.

  6. My son is about the same height and weight of your daughter.  He rides a 20" bike.
