Does anyone know Clapham Junction station well?

I'm booking tickets for my mum to go from Eastbourne to Clapham Junction via national rail then from there on the tube to Uxbridge. Can anyone talk me through how you get from the station part to the underground at Clapham. Also is there stairs or lifts because my mum is petrified of esculators

WHY Clapham Junction?

You are making life difficult for your mum.

Better to stay on the train into London and transfer there onto the Underground network.

(In response to the person who thought that "Clapham Junction" was ill-named, remember that when the station was built, the modern-day London Boroughs did not exist. At that time, naming the station as "Clapham Junction" merely reflected the relative importance of Clapham over Battersea)

Unfortunately Clapham Junction Station (trains) and Clapham Tube (North, South and Common) aren't really very close to eachother at all! There are plenty of buses connecting Clapham Junction to the tube stations, but seeing as you say your Mum is not from the area, you might be better off advising her to get a taxi from the station.

~It would be better for your mum to go all the way to either london victoria or london bridge. Since there is no tube at clapham junction it will very difficult to interchange.

I suggest you ask her to take tube from london bridge or london victoria which ever more convienient to uxbridge.

There is no underground at Clapham Junction.  Clapham is a bus ride / walk away.  Look at a map.

Clapham Junction is one of those very strange things which is that it is not in Clapham (sw4) - it's in Battersea! (sw11)

You can get a bus from outside Clapham Junction station to take you to Clapham.  Use the TFL Journey Planner on the tfl website to find out bus numbers and times.

heard of it lol i live near there not much experience with it though x soz
