  2. I did not know that goats were restricted, I used to keep them in Hertfordshire, but they can be destructive, so I guess they would need some restrictions.

To the person who wrote that they are considering getting goats to keep the grass down, this is not an option.  Goats pee and poo alot and will not eat grass that they have "been" on - they need moving and or their feed supplementing with leaves and hard feed.  Once they are in milk they will need milking twice a day!  Without fail.

  3. Yes Mine!!!!       I`m thinking of getting one, to keep the grass down.

  4. No i don`t babe! lol

  5. No, not in my countries

  6. That is a zoning issue.  Check your local county/borough zoning office.  They can help.

mine allows goats, but I live in Alaska, and that probably doesn't help you!

  7. It all comes down to zoning.  Check with your local township zoning inspector, trustees or county office.  Just because you have enough room for one doesn't necessarily mean you'd be allowed to keep them.  Most cities and suburbs restrict livestock.

If you are thinking of keeping a couple of pygmy goats, I've heard that they are now also zoned as "pets", which may mean that you could keep a couple even if your area prohibits livestock.

We have lots of different animals here even though it's primarily residential.  But we're "open zoned", meaning that agriculture and livestock are allowed.

  8. Mine does.  We have 6.
