Does anyone know a childrens book, its about a little girl, who changes colours?

its about a little girl, who i guess swallows something? i dont quite remember, but when she goes to school., she changes into patterns. I remember my teacher reading it to me, and i cant believe i forgotten all about it. I was laying in bed and suddenly it came to me. I vaguely remember pages from it, but i remember it was like a big pill type thing in the end of the story, or she had to eat something to cure whatever was making her change patterns. Like, she said the pledge, then she turned into a flag. Does anyone know?

yes yes yes!  lima beans that was the ending i think for her to go back to normal she had to eat lima beans  i loved that book i cant remember what it was caled tho
