My company is searching for credible service to proofread and edit our materials. Materials would include: brochures, newsletters, web content and anrs. nouncement letters. We are in a rural location so our best option will be a service through the internet. I am also searching for ways to establish a proofing system (checklist, if you will) that our internal employees can follow.

  1. It is difficult to find such a service, the net is rampant with scams.  This is the sort of job many people are looking to do from home, though.  Maybe you could throw an ad on your local Craigslist or do a search for internet freelancing services.  People post jobs and look for jobs on there all the time.  Here is a site that is pretty well known:

    http://www.elance.com/p/landing/buyer.ht...

  2. I know Reduced Printing, although they are a commercial printing facility, does have an extensive graphic design department with proofreading and editing services. They also help with all types of wordings and grammatical changes. You may want to call them, they are in New York I think

  3. I wish I could help but I am interested in seeing the answers you get to this question.  It seems like the best people to do this job is your employees as they know the company best.  I am assuming that you mean you want it checked for proper information about your company, not spelling/grammar, etc.

  4. I doubt online would be best for this.

There are legitimate companies all over the place, if your company is big enough to need part time service these are your best bet.

You do not mention what profession you are in, and I sort of suspect you have another ID you plan to post some spam with, but if you are real then there are usually professional organizations that offer services within your profession.   Because jargons are often profession specific it is best to use their services as they would spot more errors then someone looking for badic grammer and spelling.
