  2. If you want a portable one,many mp3 players can record FM. If you want to feed the audio into your PC, there is some great free software to record audio...Audacity is one of the best.

    You could also use Minidiscs and get 72 mins in stereo and double that in mono.

    One trick I've used for long broadcasts is a HI-Fi VCR to record the audio...6 hours of great quality on a 1 dollar cassette.
