I'm going to be a freshmen in college next year and I'm interested in both majors, but i'd like to know in general which one makes more, and some of the pros and cons of each.

  1. I know enough to say, that "archaeology" is spelled like this!

  2. I would like to help, but your question is very general and would be hard to answer without more details about your interests and what you hope to get out of your education.  Social/cultural anthropology and archaeology are different disciplines, generally within the broader field of Anthropology, but archaeology is also sometimes taught from very different perspectives and is located in different departments such as Archaeological Science or Studies, Classics, Ancient History, and History Departments.

Archaeologists are generally more employable than anthropologists, but neither degrees (at the B.A/B.S. level) guarantee a job).

Let us know a little more about your interests so we can help!

  3. you really shouldnt choose a career based on money, but if you must!! I would say anthropology has a wider field( various thiing you can do with this degree in and out of the "dirt"), However archeologists potentially make more money ( i belive), because of their potential of site work & hands on work that they provide, which offers chances for great discoveries
