I looooove hot sauce ~ and I have tried basting tofu in hot sauce then baking or frying it ~ but it doesn't turn out just right. I'm wondering it it was also dipped in some sort of batter or breading? But I am not a good enough cook to experiment on my own ;)

  1. I didn't know buffalos had wings!!

  2. I make seitan from scratch cause I think it is much firmer than what you get in the store. Either way, you can make acceptable buffalo wings with either. I made fried "chicken" and it was awesome. It takes about an hour but it is worth it. All you need is whole wheat flower and all purpose flower to make the seitan. Email me if you want the recipe. I would rather not type it all out if your not going to use it.

  3. Morningstar sells vegetarian buffalo wings that are DELICIOUS! Have you tried those yet?  They are spicy already, so I hope you like hot foods!

  4. Buffalo wing sauce is, I think, 1/2 cup Frank's Red Hot sauce (which is vegan as far as I can tell) and 1/3 cup melted butter or margarine.  The recipe is on the Frank's label, but I don't want to wake up the dogs by going downstairs and checking.

  5. Ever tried cooking seitan?  Its very easy.  You can find it at Whole Foods. great meat substitute. You could fry it up and then season it with hot spices or eat it with dipping sauce.

  6. The tempeh "wings" from the Don't Eat Off the Sidewalk 'zine have gotten rave reviews.  They are the third recipe down here: http://donteatoffthesidewalk.com/?page_i...

Some people have had good results with tofu, too.

(I've heard fabulous things about the chocolate chip cookies on that page, too...)
