I am apart of a large group (18 people) and would like to find a nice restuarant that is nice and elegant but isnt too spendy and uptight. I have called around to a few places but they dont want 18 people. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

  1. Saylor's Country Kitchen. They serve steaks you can cut with a butter knife. Depending on your dish or size of steak, price starts at about $15.00 to $35.00. They have two banquet rooms, each of which would accommodate your group. They are located on SE Stark Street. If anyone can eat a 72oz. Sirloin with all the trimmings, it's free.

    Have fun!!

  2. You didn't specify whether its Portland Oregon, or Portland Maine. If it's Oregon, you could try Applebees. They have a few branches around Portland that I know of and they might be able to accommodate your party size. Failing that you might be able to hire a smaller restaurant locally for the evening and take all the tables.

It all depends what kind of food you are after too. In Portland there are some good Indian restaurants, serving nice curry.

  3. McGraths, El Gaucho and Old Spagetti Factory

  4. YESSSSs

  5. Yeah not sure if you mean Maine or Oregon also not sure if you do mean Portland if you mean SE or SW, big difference in places to eat depending on which location.  Some more info would be helpful.

When I was in high school I went to the Harborside in SW Portland with a large group for prom and made reservations before and they were happy to seat us.  Nice place with an emphasis on seafood.
