  1. Well they aren't a series, but Jody Picoult has a bunch of books that are just like what you described they are all about 500 pages long and there are maybe 20 of them.  My favorites are Vanishing Acts and The Tenth Circle.

  2. Charlie Bone (by Jenny Nimmo)

the Lost Journals of Ven Polypheme (by Elizabeth Haydon)

    Fablehaven (Brandon Mull)

The Warrior Heir and The Wizard Heir (Cinda Chima)

    Artemis Fowl (Eoin Colfer)

    Septimus Heap (Angie Sage)

  3. For a lot of action, I would recommend the Dirk Pitt and NUMA Files books of Clive Cussler. There are 30+ books in these series and they include action, adventure, world travel and are fun to read.

You can also try Ian Fleming's James Bond books, which are full of action.

For something fun to read, try Terry Pratchett's Discworld books - there are at least 30 books in this series as well, and the various books follow several different story arcs that sometimes cross over. There are a lot of great characters and Pratchett pokes fun at just about everyone and anything with his social satire and comedy.

For straight-out action though, nobody I have read even comes close to Matthew Reilly. His books are packed with action from the very first page to the end. Start with Ice Station or Seven Deadly Wonders, which are the first books in their respective series. You will get action, adventure and plenty of intrigue and they include some of the best (or luckiest) heroes getting out of seemingly impossible situations.

  4. Try:

    Alex Rider

  5. Yaa the series is called the lost books the author is TED DEKkER

  6. try the uglies series by scott westerfeld. it is sorta sci fi but it has tons of action. read all four books in school and they were great. Happy Reading

  7. Read the Bourne series.  They are based on the Bourne movies with Matt Damon.  Very Cool!  Also try Dean Koontz (i know i know) Odd Thomas :)

  8. Cirque du Freak (about vampires) is great! I also suggest the Eragon series.

I've heard from my friend that Demonata series was good if your into that...

Maybe the Lord of the Rings?

  9. I like the Monster Blood Tattoo series, ITs about an orphan who is enrolled in the emperial service of lamplighting and on his journey to start his training he meets all sorts odf people and fights of monsters(The book is in a completely different world).

If you wanna read up on it heres a website:

  10. Hmm... there's Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - great romance and action.

I loved the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer!

I'm not sure if there's a second book to the Supernaturalists by Eoin Colfer but don't read it if you don't like really dramatic, sad parts in an ending. I cried.

  11. The Count of Monte Cristo...you may want to read the abridged version since it's pretty long and can be a bit difficult, but the plot is awesome!! Best action packed book ever-my favorite!!

  12. The dark tower series, seven books, 500+ pages each. Very interesting. it's by Stephen king. Trust me, you'll like it, just DONT look up the ending without reading all the books

  13. Warriors: into the wild, Eragon, Guardians of Ga'hoole, inkheart, Twlight, and thats it I love of them so much :)

  14. Lord of the rings

havent read the books cuz i dont like reading but i do like there movies
