Does anyone know a native song from Peru (the country)?

I am reasearching the country's musical heritage, and need an actual song from Peru. Please give me some song titles! I know that this isn't an everyday request XP

  1. Probably the most well known Peruvian folk song is the "Condor Pasa" written in 1913. The song, loosely translated as "As the Condor Flies by" was heard by Paul Simon in 1965 and recorded with english lyrics under the title "The Condor Pasa (If I Could)" which was a hit at the time.

    La flor de la canela by Chabuca Granda is also very popular.

  6. Talking about musical heritage, peruvian music come from a fusion of spanish music, african music and creole music (mestizo, a mixture of spanish and indians)

    There are 3 major kind of typical music:

    Musica criolla: marinera, tondero (music from the coast)Titles: Jose Antonio, La Flor de la Canela.

    Huayno: indian music from the andes."El condor pasa"

    Festejo: african music. "Toro mata"

    There is typical music from the jungle but I don't know much.
