Does anyone know a nice Indian restaurant in Chennai?

I will be going to Chennai on business end of this month. This will be the first time for me to India. Will be staying in Trident Hilton Chennai. Your recommendation is greatly appreciated.

Trident Hilton is pretty close to the Chennai Airport which is in the city's outskirt. Most of the retaurant on this airport including Trident have Indian foods, but are quite expensive, but good quality... and are in the outskirt - Airport is not more than a 40 minutes drive (10 - 15 km) from the heart of the city.

If you want an exclusive place for food, where you have h**l a lot of variety, then you'll find them all heaped up at the heart of the city. I mean places like Mount road, Egmore, Adyar...The prices here are also very reasonable with plenty of varieties and yes..a decent crowd too, unlike other places in Chennai, except in the branded hotels. I am not naming any place, because there are lots of them in the city.

Pls. note: For travel - do not trust the auto rickshaw drivers here. Do not take vehicles from the hotel either. but call up the Call-Taxi people for all your point to point travel needs within your city.

Contact, me (through my email, or the comment box for this quetion) if you need further help about places, rates, whom to trust - and to what extent, numbers of call taxi people (they 'pick' you up and charge you only for the 'drop'), etc...
