Does anyone know a nice hotel in downtown Santo Domingo, DR?

I'm planning on going in late August. Also, I will be flying by myself from LA but will have my dominican friend stay with me in the hotel. Does anyone know if this will cost extra? And about how much money should I take to spend, not including hotel & flight? Really appreciate it :)

You just ask for Alexandra (dominican) or Erik (Dutch) and they are very nice friendly folks and they will glagly give you

the best service. This hotel is located near everything in Santo Domingo (colonial zone, Maximo Gomez avenue,

Malecon) For your question about your spending money, I can't say exactly what your lifestyle is, but if you act normally

you don't spend much money here. With 60 to 100 us/day you can do pretty everything with your friend.

my sister in law was married at the Hilton and it was amazing. because of the rate change you tend to spend less. you should be able to go easily on $150 a day spending. probably even less.
