  1. Jane picked my first choice - the fountain would be a beautiful background if you can get there.

But, my second idea... We stayed at the Selkirk hotel in Fort Edmonton last summer, and I'd just put my new car on the road, got a few pics of the 'new car' in front of the 'old hotel'. It's a neat contrast. After park hours you access it from a side road cuz the restaurant and hotel are open, maybe call ahead to check how to get in (or I can give you more info), but it's a different idea for a photo - going for the contrast of newness against old-times background.

Added sidenote: While we were there, there was a fire alarm somewhere in the park, and the city fire dept had to respond. All the firetrucks of today gathered in front of the fire hall from yesteryear (that was their meeting point), when you get a bit of the new technology with the old background, it's a real impact sometimes. The pics we got really show that - both of the car and the firetrucks.

It's just a different concept to consider. I hope you find the perfect spot for the picture you need.

  2. Parliament Grounds, I don't how close you can get by the water fountain, at least I think there is one there and with all the flowers blooming, would be kinda nice.  Or maybe a park by some spruce trees.  I like pictures in front to canola fields, the farmers crops with all the yellow, but with spring being late, none of that is blooming yet.  Just some suggestions.  If I think of more, I will add them on, I will look at the Traders tomorrow at work, and see if I can come up with more ideas.
