I grew up with this saying on our wall.I hope to find anything else on the author or if anyone else has seen this or maybe the true spelling of the name.Thanks to all!

The author is  Frederick Perls, a German-born American psychiatrist who lived from 1893-1970. You can probably find a lot more about him with that information. :)
