my laptop is 3 years old and is a dell latitude d610. i had to get it for school and everything but i don't go to that school anymore. it's pretty much shot software wise and it isn't worth it right now to put money into a brand new laptop. i'm going to email the tech support at my old school to see if they can reinstall it for me for a price.

any tech people out there that know a reasonable price to offer? they have all of the info there and CDs and i'm willing to pay up to $200, well that's the price that i think is reasonable but then again, i'm not so sure.

  1. You should have a "factory restore" partition on it htat wil make it jus tlike thd day you got it.

Not sure how to activate it on the older Dells but look at page below, it might help.

But do not get Vista as you runit is probably tooold to support it.

  2. if you want vista you can buy a system builders version on amazon for 110$

  3. Try these first

  4. I'll do it for a steak dinner, at fridays.

  5. I do it for $75 or $150 depending on if they want me to reinstall any applications, backup/restore data, things like that.

You can transfer ownership and order the restore CD and then you can save $200 and do it yourself.  Dell products are about the easiest systems to reinstall.  Heck almost any Dell install cd works on any dell hardware.
