  1. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh PLAYDOUGH is fun!  There are edible playdoughs and non edible playdoughs!  Here are one of each!  Have Fun!

    NON- EDIBLE PLAY DOUGH

    1 C. White Flour               1 C. Water

    1/2 C. Salt                         1 T. Cooking Oil

2 tsp Cream of Tarter       1 tsp. Food Coloring

Combine dry ingrediants in a sauce pan.  Mix liquids together in a bowl.  Add liquid to sauce pan, and stir till smooth.  Cook on medium heat, stirring occassionally till ingrediants forms a ball.  This takes about 3-5 minutes.  Remove from heat!  Knead dough to improve texture!  Store in a plastic bad!   Note:  You can wait to add food colors till you are kneading the dough!  But wear rubber gloves!  When yu remove the dough from the pan, divide it in half and use 2 different colors for 2 colors of dough!  You could double the recipe and divide dough into fourths and color with 4 colors!  I prefer to use cake decorating colors which are a paste instead of liqiud colors!

  2. There are so many different kinds of play dough recipes available. Play dough is always more fun when you make it yourself. Try different methods for coloring your dough, as well as adding lemon or orange oil to give it a more fragrant smell - unless of course you're making the edible dough. Cook it, knead it, freeze it, color it, dry it, paint it, you get the idea. Most of all, have fun and be as creative as you can! Here are the recipes for a couple of them that I have used in my classroom. Enjoy.

Mix flour, salt, cream of tartar and Kool-Aid® in a medium pot. Add water and oil. Stir over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes. When mixture forms a ball in pot, remove. Knead until smooth. Put in a plastic bag and refrigerate.
