Does anyone know a safe way to send a pie across the country?

My little sister just moved 3 states away. I want to try and surprise her with a homemade pie for Thanksgiving. I know its a few months away but I thought I would ask. Thanks!

1.  Tightly wrap it in aluminum foil to prevent the juices from dripping. When done packaging the pie in foil, place in a protective plastic container. Fill the empty spots in container with printer paper. Make sure you stuff enough paper so that if you shake the container, the pie does not move. Place in a shipping box filled with newspaper. I recommend the shipping box is not much bigger than the plastic container so that the pie will not move.

2. Buy the quickest shipping you can afford. You want to avoid the pie form becoming stale.

3. Write FRAGILE all over the shipping box.
