  1. You might be able to get some online instruction, but there is no substitute for an actual teacher.

Find a local class and enroll - you won't regret it.

  2. So strange bunny.  I want to do this but have no mentors close to home.  Thinking of getting a video. Maybe you should.

  3. You can not learn martial arts  just by watching your computer monitor. If you want to just learn it as a form of exercise, it is better off if you just go for a really slow walk, you will get more benefits this way.

  4. If your energies need balancing immediately, then put your hands - left one underneath - onto your hara, which is four-finger widths below the belly button and focus on your breathing.  Breathe slowly in and out with you attention on the hara.

If you want to learn Tai Chi there is no better than Erle Montaigue - just put his name in the search bar.  His stuff is absolutely top class and you will be able to get a total form from him instead of just bits and pieces.

I haven't been in his site recently but I think he put everything up to be downloaded for free and he has a wealth of information on a variety of useful practises and techniques.

If you are having difficulty meditating you could try a fast potent workout first to get your energies moving and to open the body's energy points.  Then just sit and if the mind is all over the place just sit and watch it.  It's the way of the mind to try and distract you as much as it can.  Have a look inside my answers and see what I have to put up with when I'm doing a straight sitting meditation - it's no joke I can tell you.

  5. too bad you can't come to my school.  I have students from China who practice it at lunch time.  It looks lovely and balanced.  I could practice it with you, I know about feeling off balance lately...

    deep breath, in ...out...in...out...

feel better?  it will be OK, I promise.
