Question:

Does anyone know a vendor who sells a tap & die 5/8" NF 27 right hand thread?

It's a size and pitch used on audio microphone equipment and is pretty standard. But I guess no one ever strips a mike thread based on the availability of repair sets I've found in my search so far.

  1. I don't know where they came up with this thread.  I believe it's so you have to buy more expensive stands and can't just put together your own out of cheaper pipe.  1/16" and 1/8" pipe can be a 27 thread but outside of that I'm not aware of any.  They only way I  know of getting 27 thread is to cut it on a lathe.  Even then, most lathes won't cut 27 thread.
