My step daughter was just diagnosed with PTSD yesterday. It has to do with some tramatic experiences at her biological mother's home. I'm desperately looking for a good site that will give me ideas on how to help her. She is in Therapy but my husband and I want to help her as best as we can. Thank you!

  1. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - Kids Behaviour (UK)

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder may develop after an individual accg.net/post_traumatic_stress_disorder.... - Cached

is exposed to a traumatic event. This article offers basic information about PTSD and children.

    www.kidsbehaviour.co.uk/PostTraumaticS... - Cached

    accg.net/post_traumatic_stress_disorde... - Cached

    www.worrywisekids.org/anxiety/post_tra...

or for a live chat room use www.realmentalhealth.com - they are good

  2. Talk to her therapist, and consider seeing a therapist yourselves for some counseling on how to best help.  That would be more meaningful than reading the Internet, not that gathering other info isn't a good idea.

  3. Here is the government site for PTSD:   http://www.ncptsd.va.gov/ncmain/ncdocs/f...

    Here is another site:  www.ptsdsupport.net/child.html

    Another great site is www.psychcentral.com

Hope these help, if you want more let me know.
