Does anyone know about a race around the world?

I've often heard references to a "race around the world". Whether it be "Around the World in 80 Days" or that TV show "The Amazing Race".

What are some more races around the world? Anything else famous?

There's the Whitbread Around the World Sailing race. The race starts in October and is expected to be completed around the end of June.

i heard about the Iron man competition (something like that) where u have to swim/bike/run hundreds of miles in total
