Does anyone know about an early Noble family located in the 19th century in Westmoreland County, Virginia, or?

My family history indicates the Noble family settled in Westmoreland County, Virginia, and later some moved to Western Virginia and North Carolina eventually settling in Georgia, Alabama, Louisana, and Texas.

The wording is fairly standard for many "family histories".. unfortunately, in order to find facts, you have to have something way less generic and vague.

YOU have to work backwards from your KNOWN Noble ancestor, wherever he/she was, until you follow the trail back to it's origin.  Doing this (which is the only reliable way) will either give you a name/date in Virginia, or you could be surprised that your Noble lineage is not connected to this one, at all.  Yes, that DOES happen.

per family search.org... in 1880, there were many persons named Noble who do show Virginia as their place of birth.. that does not necessarily exclude them from earlier roots in Westmoreland co.

There is a family tree at rootsweb.com showing Thomas Noble and Mary Gilbert Noble came from Scotland to Westmoreland Co., VA in the 1700s and lived next to George Washington.  However none of the Nobles in this tree were in the other States you mentioned.

I'm not sure if this means anything, but there are 47 family trees with Noble's from Westmoreland Co., PA in the 1800s and shows them in the other States you listed as well.

I just checked every US census from 1790 until 1880, and found no Nobles in Westmoreland County.

EDIT: Why the thumbs down?  It's not my fault they're not there.  Some of you people are goofy.
