OK... I just need to do a paper about whether or not people with terminal illnesses or in vegetative state have the right to have assisted suicide if that is their or their familie's choice.

  1. She didn't have a terminal disease.  She had severe brain damage.

Lou Gherig had a terminal disease that, coincidentally, shared the same name as him.

  2. She did not have a terminal illness. She had brain damage. They're not even close to being the same thing.

To the post below this. . . I hope you're being facetious. There's nothing coincidental about Lou Gehrig having Lou Gehrig's disease. . . they named it after him, for heaven's sake. That's not a coincidence.

  3. Do some research on Karen Ann Quinlan

There was a huge flap over her case in the 1970's

  4. The Schiavo case isn't a terminal illness case. Terminal illness means your going to die DIRECTLY from the illness, her case was a PVS (persistant vegitative state). But anyways, a similar PVS case is the Nancy Cruzan case which is probably the most classic. There are others too. The Elizabeth Bouvia case is interesting but slightly different but you see a different side to the subject so it may help also.

  5. Karen Ann Quinlan is the first case such as this I can recall. Very similar to the Schiavo case.

  6. Michael J Fox
