Does anyone know about coins?

i found a coin in my room i have no idea where it came from but on the front its a 3 leaf clover with St. Patrick in the middle leave and on the sides it has a fish and a harp and then says EIRE on the back is has the four provinces of Ireland and then says 1ox .999 silver...does anyone know what it is?

  2. well im 15 and i collect coins and does it have a date? cause the republic of ireland split up into 4 provinces and you have a coin of the EIRE province the coin should be from around the 1930-1940 or 50 time period im not so shure, so that coin is pretty old and the .999 means its 1ox.999 silver leaf grade, so its pretty much pure silver and its from the EIRE province from when ireland was divided   hold on to that coin its wort a qood penny lol take care man peace..... oh and how the h**l did it randomly end up in your home lol  

  3. Thats a commemorative coin, its like a souvenir.

    Its not legal tender.
