The current grants such as those available at the official government grant website Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov are those for researching how to make a home energy efficient. Not grants given to individual homeowners to make their homes more "earth friendly"

Read about the grant "Building America Energy Efficient Housing Partnerships" - it is not for individuals but for research organizations primarily
