If you buy a houseboat and say sail to a different country, pay the docking fee, can you just live there or do you have to go through some kind of paperwork?? Anyone know anything?

  1. No that is called an illegal immigrant. You must fill out all the same forms for visas etc. that you would for traveling any other way. If however you wanted to moor in international waters you could probably do that without any problem, but they usually only exist a few hundred miles off the coast of any landform

  2. Once you pay for a slip I'd assume you can do just about anything you want - it's your boat. Just as long as it doesn't disrupt anyone else.

  3. your going to sail a houseboat out away from the coast, hmmm you might want to rethink that, house boats are to unstable for any kind of crossings, but to answer your question, when arriving in another country you have 24 hrs to report in at a port of call and the customs officer, they will ask you if you have any goods to declare, they may or may not seach your vessel, you must have a current passport and visa, they will advise you of how long you can stay etc.You need to research the local laws and customs.

  4. I don't know, but when you come back, wear mexican soccer shirts and speak Spanish; you will get free healthcare, job opportunities, and food credits.

  5. yes dont leave the garbage on deck  it stinks
