  1. Ti lite's seem fairly good and light weight. allot of the weight is in the extras fitted to the wheel chair like the  cushion.  A fixed frame designed purely for your body is going to be lighter than an adjustable frame. Also a properly set up chair will be like having a chair that weighs nothing. if  you sit far forward tends to have a heavy feeling to it.

  2. You need to ask the Doctor and the Occuapational Therapist about makes and models of lightweight Disabled chairs.

  3. Yes,,Quickie are the best...I am in the process of getting a new manual chair and I told them off the bat I only want a quickie...there the most popular brand.,,

Lightweight chairs are not special...most are lightweight these days...

Check out the web pages for lightweight wheelchairs....

  4. My favourite was the action 2000 l had one for three years befor l had to have another one and l hate the one which has replaced it. Make sure your weight is right not being rude but l was weighed befor having it and lt was the best chair that l have ever had but lt ls what suits you so try before you buy as the saying goes. Iuse mine indoors and out. Plus lt depends how much you wish to pay or lf lt ls a N. H S chair or not Not wise to buy secondhand

  5. titanium and a new material are the lightest--don't remember what it is called--

your insurance won't pay for the ultra-lightwieghts unless it is deemed taht a standard weight chair is not appropriate for you

  6. Well you really need to get an assessment from an OT for special chairs.  I would ask your doctor or get the person concerned to ask their Doctor to refer them to an OT.

  7. No one can make a recommendation without knowing about the nature of your body type, disability, and support needs. What works great for one person can be a living h**l for another.
