i am having some problems with paypal. i sold some items and the buyer returned some of them back to me. not all of them. some of them. paypal is sending me emails telling me they have already refunded this buyer's $ and now i am to pay the balance. this had been a dispute and i myself escalated it into a claim hoping to speed up the process, thinking they would side with me since the buyer was in the wrong. i cannot get ahold of paypal by email at all. its always an automated response email. i am wondering what they can do to me. can they file suit or will it go on my credit? i will never use paypal again. it was the first and last time. i hope someone has delt with this or knows someone who has so they can give me info. i even tried to make an appeal and can't even seem to get thru to get that done.

  1. Go into PayPal and check your account activity summary to see exactly what transactions have taken place.  I have used PayPal for years and never had problems.  If I need to refund or send money I am the one that initiates it.  If you see this refund happened without your authority contact customer service via the link they offer at the bottom of the home page.

  2. There are alot of email scams with paypal. I have never been a fan of paypal. I'm assuming you've gone to there contact us area, and tried the service center. If not I would give that a try, but overall I wouldnt be too concerned.

  3. I, too, had an issue with Paypal.  I didn't get an eBay item I paid for, that I had bought using Paypal, and they basically said "too bad for you!"   I sued them in a "Class Action Lawsuit" with a ton of other people, and ended up getting MORE THAN I had paid.  Good Luck!  Fight them!

  4. Yeah, and I agree, they suck!

I bought something from an eBay vendor, never got the item because they shipped it to the wrong address, they re-shipped the item cod even though I had already paid for it plus shipping. Naturally, I didn't accept the COD & it was returned. The vendor blamed me & I was out the money. Neither ebay nor paypal helped me out because the item was under $25 before the shipping chgs. So I was out the item & my 32 bucks. ($20 for the item & another $12 shipping.

  5. I haven't had a problem with paypal such as this, but I have had problems.  CALL them.  They never answer emails.  Although secure, their rules are like ebay's and sham you.  Whatever benefits them is what happens.

Threaten them with your a claim from your state attorney general's office.  In PA, you file for free and they will fight for your money and it is all totally free, you can even file online.

    Good luck to you.

  6. PayPal SUCKS, that's all I know, don't hold your breath hoping for a solution from them, they don't give a !@#$.

  7. Pay-Pal has a very specific protocol to disputes.

They do not take definitive action until the dispute process is given the full time alloted.

They do read and act on your dispute immediately.

They give you the proper protocol you should follow; and they will let you know how long the wait will be until the matter is finalized.

    Just be patient.

They will be VERY FAIR to everyone in the dispute.

If you used a credit card, for the purchase in this dispute, you should also contact your credit-card people, and dispute the charge through them as well.  This will put the $ amount on hold during the dispute period, and save any sort of "non-payment" designation against your card.

Your appeal DOES get through, and you are given instructions to follow.  That's all you have to do.  It will play itself out properly.  Have patience.

You're not the first to have a dispute, and you will not be the last.  Be cool.
