  1. Wean yourself off the Wellbutrin and give yourself a resting period with no medicine in your system (maybe a week or so?). Then try the Sam-E.

I used to take Zoloft but stopped. Desperate to find something to help my mood/behavior/depression/everything else, I tried Sam-E because the side effects and how Zoloft made me feel were horrible. Sam-E is working really well for me.

I suggest a resting period because you want to make sure that Sam-E is working for you or not. Trying it on a completely clean system will enable you to accurately make that decision without worrying about if its still the Wellbutrin you're feeling.

Something else I really dig about Sam-E is that is actually promotes liver health, something conventional meds don't do. Hooray!

Oh, the only thing about using Sam-E is to make sure you're getting a good dose of B6, B12 and Folic Acid in your diet while taking it. It helps it to metabolize in your system more efficiently.

  2. I really wouldn't take them at the same time.  I would wean myself off the Wellbutrin and give myself some time before starting the SAM-e.  I too have heard it works well.

If it doesn't work, you can try 5-HTP or St. John's Wort (not together).  The 5-HTP should be started at 50mg three times a day.  If, after two weeks, there is no improvement, then bump it to 100mg three times a day until you get the desired effect.  St. John's Wort can be taken at 300mg three times a day.

Try also to get enough Vitamin B6 (50mg-150mg daily) in a B Complex.  Cut back on caffeine and avoid sugar.
