Does anyone know about the Disney Dining Plan for Florida Residents?

I know: DISNEY DINING EXPERIENCE is a dining discount program for eligible Florida Residents and Annual Passholders 21 and older good for 20 percent off food and beverage at a number of Walt Disney World Resort hotel and theme park restaurants and lounges.

MY QUESTION IS: If my daughter goes up to order the food at one counter while I am at another counter - if I give her the card can she get the discount or will they look for some kind of ID? The pass is only worth it for us if everyone can use it. Most of our meals will be counter service.

  1. We didn't get that this year, but we had it a previous year, and I remember showing ID whenever we used it.  We sent our 3 kids with our in-laws, and they couldn't use it without us showing up with ID during the meal.  We were paying for 5 at a sit-down, so it was worth it, but we were annoyed they wouldn't let us pre-pay or let us show our ID and DDE card earlier that day and note the reservation.

This site says that you have to be 21, btw.  That would explain my kids having trouble, but no cast member mentioned that, and I didn't recall reading that.  Oh, well!

  2. Usually, they do not check ID when you use it.  I suppose they technically could at any time, but they usually don't.  If they ask her for it, she will probably be ok by just telling them you are in the other line.

  3. The DDE is not for counter service locations, only table service.  The only exceptions are:

    Pizzafari in the Animal Kingdom

    and

Flame Tree BBQ in the Animal Kingdom
