  1. Try the University of Findlay, in Findlay Ohio. They do summer programs, and also have an AWESOME equestrian program for both english and wester riders.

  2. As a graduate of William Woods, I know a fair bit about the horses and experience. I had a wonderful experience there and I did learn quite a bit. All of the horses are donated. They keep what they need. There are some true schoolmasters and there are just plain green horses as well. There's a lot of mid range horses with some training, but hey, that's what most of us are going to see! They are all needed to teach training. I did not participate in the summer camps (I was working on a breeding farm), but I heard good things about it. The students teach under the guidance of an instructor. The problem with this is, there is a WIDE range of skill and experience level in the students, and you just aren't going to make everyone an expert in a few short years. Due to that, I think lessons and experiences vary quite a bit. I'm trying to think which horses were used in the camp, I think Freddie was and I liked him quite a bit, also Funny Face is a gem of a horse. My horses weren't used in the camp, but I loved them!

  3. I worked for a facility, that was owned by a grad that attended their 4 year bachelors program. She raved about the school, but I felt she knew very little about training and starting and even less about riding. I wasn't impressed and I know it cost her about 75K for that degree. (I also met her best-friend who attended their as well, she was a little bit better rider, but still knew NOTHING about training!)  She wasn't too bad at management and heath, but she was far too lazy and would never take care of her barn or her boarders. She insisted on sending our students their for summer camps, the 1st year they came back with no additional knowledge and some bazaar ideas on what correct jumping form was. The 2nd year she tried to get me to send one of my school masters with them for the camps, but I knew better then to do that, I asked don't they have school masters? And she replied with well not like this, so I thought what do you mean liked FINISHED! The kids said they had fun, but I don't think they got much out of it and I know it was very expensive.

Meridith Manor in WV host camps as well and they are a very well known Equine school, I have worked with them in the past. I would go there instead.
