Does anyone know about this or have had this happen? The Pill/pregnancy?

I have been on the pill for 6 months and have been taking it regularly. I had my period a week ago-in the last couple days I noticed that my b***s are very tender and hurt. I have also noticed that I have to pee a couple times in a hour.

I usually start getting the PMS symptoms a week before my period, so I'm a little confused right now. I heard that the pill is 99.9 % effective.

Has anyone gotten pregnant while on the pill or know someone who had?

How likely is it to get pregnant on the pill?

  1. I got pregnant twice on the pill and if any thing the most I missed my pill by was 15 minutes to an hour and that was on rare occasions.  My first ended with a miscarriage and my second is three years old atm.  I do not trust the pill anymore! But I know theres a bunch of pills out there .. the pill I got pregnant on was alesse (sp?).  I know of two other people whom got pregnant on alesse also. Good luck .. hope you get the answer your looking for :)

  2. are you taking the pill everyday at the same time because if not it is possible that you can get pregnant on the pill. this happened to my friend and that what the gp told her.

  3. If taken at the same time each day without missing pills, its 99.9% effective.  I actually had a similar thing you did.....I usde to get PMS symptoms a week before my period too, but once I started the pill they came a lot earlier, like a week after my period had ended.  I was never pregnant though, so maybe its just some weird side effect of the pill.  If you're taking it responsibly, I'm sure you're fine.

  4. don't freak until you're really really late.

  5. It can happen but it is highly unlikely if you have followed the directions carefully and haven't missed any pills. I would see a doctor, you may have an infection and they could do a blood test for pregnancy to make sure.

  6. I know a couple people who have gotten pregnant on the pill. This is likely to happen if you miss pills, if you don't take your pill around the same time every day, or if you take certain antibiotics or other medications without using a backup method. Like the others said, don't freak out until you're officially late for your period.

  7. I know someone who got pregnant with quadruplets while on the pill. Sorry, I don't think that helps you though.
