Question:

Does anyone know adoption agencies that cover the entire US, not just state by state?

I am currently a foster parent, trying to adopt, but don't know if I have the stomach for losing another child. I want to widen my search to the US, not just be limited to my state. Does any of this make sense? or am I just talking nonsense:):)

Please let me know if any agencies cover the entire US.

Any insight would be appreciated!!!!

  1. HI. Try adoptuskids.com. Excellent site, many kids available.

  2. try www.lifetimeadoption.com  They cover the entire U.S. with birthmothers from all over.  They specialize in infants but I know they have some older children on there. Good luck!

  3. Most are able to place babies with families in every state if they are private agencies -- like most who advertise on the Internet.  Public agencies like state foster care/adoption units are local, usually, but not always.

  4. I too was a foster parent but became tired of my heart being broke each time they left 3 yr was enough for us  most agencies will work in all 50 states but will not do your home study and yes another home study will be needed

  5. There are agencies that work in multiple states, however each state has it's own licensing requirements and adoption statutes, so it's not really possible to have a truly national agency. Some of the faith based ones have multiple branches that work with each other, you could check into Bethany Christian, Lutheran Family Services, and Catholic Charities.  Also, if you adopt from another state you have to follow ICPC rules (Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children) so make sure any agency you choose is comfortable with working with ICPC.

ETA: I found this agency is nationwide, but they only do open adoptions if that's okay with you http://www.adoptionhelp.org/
