Does anyone know an L.A. source 4 single needle chain stitch sewing machines like the ones used in Disneyland?

These machines are not in use much these days, but allow the artist to embroider in any direction using a handle under the machine. They are used in Disneyland to embroider names on souvenir hats.

  1. I'm sure there are -- check the phone book for industrial sewing machine distributors -- you'll probably want used.   LA is a major industrial sewing area still.

    for ideas on used machines.

Since I am in Seattle, I cant give you a name or adress to look up, but I can tell you the machine you are describing is called a Chennile machine.  These machines are still quite expensive if you are lucky enough to locate one.  HINT try a company that makes lettermans jackets and see if they are willing to part with one
