Does anyone know an anime with a girl that can take care of herself?

I really hate how they have the spazzy girls who are totally helpless. I like animes like Shugo Chara, Fruits Basket, Ouran Host Club, Special A, and Sugar Sugar Rune. So i was wondering if anyone knew of an anime with a girl that could take care of herself and, if possible, having it been well drawn?

i love special a too, i agree vampire knight is really good. although it does not show her to be very powerful in season one but in season two i'm sure things will change,( i took a peak at the manga, dont want to be a spoiler but its very interesting anime. )

Hm...Witch Hunter Robin would be good for you.  The main character isn't spazzy at all.  Also, I totally agree with you on this, I stand stand animes where the girls are so pathetic.  And some people are suggesting Vampire Knight and I agree it's a good anime but the main girl can be pretty helpless sometimes.
