Does anyone know an average cost of Eyeglasses??

So i need to get my eyes checked again, which i am assuming i will need a stronger prescription because the glasses i have now are not working the best. I was wondering if anyone knew how much it would end up costing me? My insurance covers one annual visit a year....but how much do the actual lenses cost? i know the frames it all depends ...

It all depends in the lenses like if you need bifocals or just normal they can cost you any where from 100-300 dollars depending on where you live and then you can subtract what your inshurace covers so good luck and happy shopping

Basic lenses will prob. cost you anywhere from 80.00 to 100.00. Could go up with UV coating, anti reflectant coating, polished edges, thinner lenses, etc.

I work at the wal-mart vision center, and depending on what kind of lenses, Single vision, bi-focal,or progressive lenses, you need the cost may vary. I konw our frames go anywhere from 18-148 dollars, and at other opticals the average frame cost is probably 120. If you just need single vision lenses and your rx isn't too strong you could get plastic lenses for $70 and that has the anti reflective, uv, and scratch coating on there. If you wanted thinner lenses that are impact resistant the lenses are $110 and even thinner is $140. Those also have the coating already on. If you have really bad eyes you would proabably need a high index lens which is $160. If you need bi-focals or progressives those run anywhere from $95 for plastic to $389 for a super thin customized lens. I'm assuming you are younger so my guess is the Single vision lenses would work for you, so depending on yhe frame choice a complete pair could run from $88 to $308. Again those are wal-mart prices so other places are going to run different. Beware of 2 for 99 those usually are cheap frames with plastic lenses that have no coatings on them.
