Does anyone know an effective Spider repellent?

Does anyone know of a spider repellent that works? I don't want to hurt the spiders, I just want them to vacate my house and surrounding area... they are really starting to freak me out, my garden is overrun with huge spiders, making webs in doorways, on the pathways, on the bins etc... It's getting so i'm hating being outside.

I have found a receipe online for Coconut oil and distilled vinegar, has anyone else tried this, and did it work?

The rascals only do this in approx Sept so it's one month in each year.You can't repell a spider.You have to tolerate him or kill him with insecticide.Break the webs with sticks and that will take them all day to make another web

I live on a really wooded lot and get really HUGE spiders... I swear they watch television since they would make HUGE webs in my picture windows.. One in particular LOVED to play a game called jump outta the mailbox!  EWWW!  

So, I bought a product called ORTHO HOME DEFENSE it comes in a large container with a sprayer... It works GREAT.... I spray it along the doors and windows and perimeter of the house.... INSIDE/OUTSIDE it's non-staining/odor and it works for all types of bugs....Silverfish, fleas, ladybugs, spiders, etc.. It's NOT expensive and lasts for about 6 months.. I don't have a problem with spiders..

When I first moved into this house, 10 years ago, I was freaked by the number and size of spiders!

I now have mesh on my vents. That helped a lot.

However, after all this time, I'm getting ok with them. I can actually pick them up with my BARE HANDS to put them out!

I bought some spray stuff for putting around the windows and doors, but I have never used it!

I show them my dog, good bit of protein.  Sorry I'm terrified of spiders, and letting your dog or cat eat them continues the circle of life.  Sorry!

lemon juice!!! just mix up some lemon juice and water and spray round doorways and windows, i did this as my house was over run with them and no i never see any :) it works because insects hate citrus stuff, so when and with spiders there nose senses are in thier feet so when the walk on affected area they hate it and learn not to come back,

Betterware do one, it has ceder I think in it, I bought some but its to stop spiders getting in the house
